A list of tasks the intern may assist with:
  • PROMOTE: Your role is to promote internships as a personal development initiative at your university. This may include posting opportunities onto your university Facebook and career sites.
  • ENGAGE: with students in social media and post interesting content.
  • EVENTS: Assisting at and hosting events for students.
  • LEAD: Leading and managing other team members or joining a team.
    Wearing the Dream Team t-shirt to university.
  • CONNECT: Talk to other students who have questions about what you do.
  • COMMIT: 3 months commitment, about 5-10 hours/week.

It is a sustainable seafood industry, adopting new harvesting technologies and attracting young people.

The intern will assist with the delivery of workshops that will teach oyster farmers how to use social media, and in particular Twitter. Oyster farmers have smart phones, however they rarely take full advantage of the communication and marketing capacity of their devices. Social media is very undervalued in the oyster industry, but this can turn around with the right enthusiastic person who can grab their attention on a grass roots level, to teach them how to use social media, and show them how applicable it is to their businesses.
The intern may be required to travel to remote parts of coastal NSW (north and south), and Sydney.

This project would be a fantastic opportunity to build a communications portfolio, challenge presentation and design skills, mix with rural communities, primary industry groups, and state and local government stakeholders.
