Brief Description Of Organisation & Brand 
  • Our client is a not-for-profit company funded by the New South Wales State and the Australian Government.
  • Its’ roles include coordinating natural resource management at a catchment scale, working with the community and other stakeholders to achieve healthy waterways, bushland, coasts and marine areas, work in partnership with local government, state government agencies, universities, and industry on natural resource management in the region.
The interns required skill set:
  • Our client is looking for a creative, self motivated and enthusiastic individual who can take responsibility for his/her own work and assist this group develop their awareness and processes.
  • Our client is ideally looking for a Marketing, Communications, Marine Biology or Science intern who can add fresh views and improve communications between the organization’s staff and a younger target market.
A list of tasks the intern may assist with
  • The successful candidate could assist with one or more of these projects (depending on skills and experience):
  • Improving the design and development of the organization’s website to make it more functional and useful for youth interested in marine life
  • Developing a communications strategy targeting younger people and new media sources (twitter, wiki etc) and setting up and training internal staff how to use new media sources
  • Developing an awareness plan for marine volunteers
  • Designing and conducting a survey of publication recipients (to test their effectiveness and position in the market)
  • Create a process map and review of workplace document flows with a view to improving office communications and productivity
  • Shadow high level staff working with natural resource management
  • The intern should expect the majority of the internship to be project-based and also include observation and assistance of the Managers at the Host Company.
  • Interns should also expect some administrative work of a general nature.
