Brief Description Of Organisation & Brand 

Provides accommodation services to attendees of the Exhibition and Trade event industry. The company has grown to become Australia’s leading independent accommodation and travel aggregator’ specializing in delivering unique accommodation and travel related services to the Exhibition Conference, Government, Corporate and Leisure Markets.

 

The Intern will join a medium-sized business with large well-known clients throughout Australia.We place students in several industries here as the Management Team have trained interns in their separate fields for years.

The interns required skill set
  • Creative, self-motivated, responsible
  • Strong leadership, management and organizational skills
  •  Must be flexible and have well developed interpersonal skills.
  •  Must excel in personal interactions with the staff and volunteers at all levels of the organization.
  •  Knowledge of basic computer systems: Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  •  Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator, copier, telephones and so on.
A list of tasks the intern may assist with
  • Building, developing and merging databases, database management
  • Some accounting administration
  • General project management for improvement of office systems
  • Communications (self driven projects and ideas are highly valued)
  • Create a process map and review of workplace document flows with a view to improving office communications and productivity, may include in house work life balance surveys
  •  Allotments in government area and data entry
  • Create contact lists and research
  • Customer service and phone operation
  • Evaluation and research reports based on the above
Value the intern will take from this role
The intern should expect the majority of the internship to be project-based and also include observation and assistance of the Managers at the Host Company. Interns should also expect some administrative work of a general nature.

Our client is a highly reputable and fast growing nightclub and events brand. We run a weekly Saturday night events and work with the major dance festivals in New South Wales. Our office is full of young 18-24 party people that promote, market, manage and operate our events, website and other media.

 

Location: Sydney

 

Your Skills and Qualifications:

Personal attributes sought after include but not limited to:
•    Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
•    Strong English language skills – in dealing with customers/ suppliers
•    Have a confident and professional manner in dealing with colleagues and clients
•     Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•     Good computer literacy skills A minimum of intermediate Outlook, Word, Excel skills are a must.
•    Strong time management and organizational skills
•     Be a team player and can follow directions
•    A willingness to learn and achieve and excel in what you do

 

Possible Internship Tasks and Responsibilities:

While interning with us, interns may perform the following list of tasks:

•    Summarizing meeting minutes
•    Coordinating ticket sales with major dance festival organisers and promoters
•    Point of contact regarding Administrative enquiries for the business.
•    Assist in answering incoming phone calls
•    Perform marketing/promotions activities when required
•    Assist in overall running of the office
•    Assist in creating reports, marketing documents/spreadsheets and more

This position will provide the suitable candidate with a range of experiences and an in depth look at all operational facets of a nightclub, events brand and weekly event. While working with promoters, artists, managers and more the candidate will learn everything about the industry. They will be involved with all of the ins and outs of the business and working closely with major dance festivals in Australia
