16. Magnetism – stand out, be noticed and remembered (Vol2.No16.110425)

Here we are, on to another Monday… My legs are still sore from running a half marathon this weekend, luckily I don’t type with my toes…. ha ha ha.

Today’s Dream Internship Tip sheet is a sneaky little way to get noticed, even if you sometimes feel like you’re just one of the crowd.

If you are looking to get a job, and you want to get a head start on all the other applicants, then this is something for you!

Here goes:

One if the biggest issues with sending email resume applications to employers, is getting it read by the right person at the right time.

If you mail it through and the secretary is having a bad day and lose it, your chance is blown – or is it? I’ve mentioned this before – what can you do to make sure you get what you want?

Make sure you call to check that your resume is on the right person’s desk.

Now all you have to do is get noticed and remembered.

So, how do you invoke curiosity?

How do you get the person to read, laugh, cry, think and remember you?

The answer is simple and it won’t even cost you postage…

Use a blank, standard, business, white envelope. Insert your cover letter and resume and place in the persons door, or drop it on the door mat right in front of their door.

You can distribute these by hand.

Whatever you do, don’t put it in the mailbox!
