In this role the primary task will be developing a new corporate website under guidance from our IT manager and others. Content will be provided by other departments , but the developer will become a subject matter expert for the application. The majority of code development will be based on WordPress and the LAMP stack. In this period the successful applicant will be mentored by the IT manager and supported by a friendly workplace team.
Brief Description Of Organisation & Brand 
Our client has extensive expertise in Epilepsy and specialises in delivering comprehensive services. They are currently seeking an Intern PHP / WordPress Web Developer to join their not-for-profit team on a 6 month paid internship contract.
The interns required skill set:
  • Good business/technical oral and written communication skills (technical and non-technical)
  • Good understanding of MySQL, HTML, CSS, WordPress required.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
A list of tasks the intern may assist with:
  • Collection / analysis of business requirements.
  • Interpret the business needs and turn into documented software requirements for approval
  • Develop software design specifications.
  • Design and writing of code based on the specifications
  • Conduct tests on the developed code and provide results of code testing, ready for UAT by acceptance team.
  • Develop documents on relevant specifications and test results.
  • Final user documentation is produced outside the role, but the developer is expected to make considerable contribution to this documentation.

A base intern salary will be provided for the duration of the contract and flexible working hours to accommodate further studies is anticipated. All equipment / software required to perform the role will be provided; and all output from the role will remain the property of the employer. By specific, written agreement at the conclusion of the contract, the applicant may be permitted to reference the completed site in their portfolio of works completed.
